This year will be booming once again at the Great Smoky Mountains with all of the 4th of July special events taking place. Each year there are special events scheduled for the visitors to enjoy. If you don’t already have any plans for this 4th of July, spending a couple of days at the Great Smoky Mountains would be a great way to enjoy Independence Day.
A few of the special 4th of July events schedule for the Great Smoky Mountains are listed below:
- 35th Annual 4th of July Midnight Parade- Each year the parade begins at 12.01 on the morning of the 4th in downtown Gatlinburg. One of the highlights will be the tribute to the five branches of the military.
- 19th Annual Patriot Festival- Each year at Pigeon Forge, Independence Day is celebrated with a variety of activities that include special musical performances, fireworks, food and lots of fun.
- Gatlinburg’s River Raft Regatta- This event starts at Christus Gardens Bridge and goes to the Aquarium Bridge. Participants launch unmanned objects into the river and compete for prizes by racing the objects from one bridge to the other.
- Fireworks Display- There will be a variety of fireworks display to enjoy. Some of the places where the fireworks will be held include the Cherokee Indian Reservation, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Lake Junaluska and of course the huge “Stand Here” fireworks finale that will be held in downtown Gatlinburg.
There is always something to do at the Great Smoky Mountains but the 4th of July is a special time where you can celebrate Independence Day in style. It’s fun for the whole family and something that you’ll truly remember for a long time to come.
